Description

We are seeking to grow the team with our first hire of a specialist UX designer. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with engineering and product teams to help ensure consistency and ease of use.

You'll have the opportunity to stamp your mark on the UX across the product, evangelising design-thinking and experimentation to deliver results and learnings in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Sales to form a product which is truly groundbreaking within the NHS.

As with the whole the team, this is a remote/home based role and as such you will also be trusted to work pretty much fully remotely and manage your day like a grown up, so no strict 9-5 clock watching. However, you will need to make yourself available to colleagues and speak to clients on a regular basis and in the future may need to travel into Manchester, Birmingham or London for face-to-face meetings with the team occasionally.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Assist in defining the problems to be addressed and the outcomes we want to create with our products.
  • Engage in, and sometimes lead, research and discovery activities to develop deep empathy with our customers and understand their needs and challenges.
  • Sketch out solutions to complex problems, storyboard user journeys, producing ideas and concepts, produce high fidelity wireframes and prototype and/or test visual designs, depending on the situation.
  • Use these wireframes and prototypes to create a sense of interaction and flow to communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and validation of your design solutions, iterating and enhancing them in line with the results and feedback you’ve obtained.
  • Understanding product specifications and user psychology.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with cross functional agile product teams (product, development, testing, commercial, compliance etc.) to ensure the final delivered product meets design standards, is kept relevant and is loved by our customers.
  • Drive forward designs through the entire end to end process from initial research, to ideation at all levels of prototyping fidelity, from rough whiteboard and paper sketches and through to polished visual designs.
  • Develop and maintain user interface standards and create an inclusive and coherent user experience for Malinko, using UX best practices and maintaining digital brand and style guidelines.
  • Act as the UX "go to" within the company with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices, company design system standards, and supportive research to direct recommendations.
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.
